The first time I travelled to Ireland was in early March. It is a time when nature in Germany is still pretty much gray, except maybe for a few crocuses. In Ireland, however, sing seems to start earlier and one of the first sights I saw was a field of daffodils. Then, walking on the cliffs outside of Dublin, I was surprised by large shrubs covered in bright yellow flowers. I later learned that they were gorse.
Apart from the unexpected and overwhelming color explosion, I also remember a smell resembling coco surrounding the plant. Combined with the omnipresent wind, the dramatic clouds and the sound of the waves below (not forgetting the sea gulls) it was really an experience for all the senses. And one more reason to fall in love with Ireland.
