December is the time for Christmas markets. In Munich you can find lots of holiday markets in different parts of the city. The one you might come across first is this one right in the city center at Marienplatz.
In front of the city hall you’ll find a large Christmas tree and rows of stalls that sell cookies, candles, cookie cutters and decorations – and whatever else you might expect to find on a Christmas market. Of course, there’s lots of food and mulled wine, as well.
Even if you just went to the city for some shopping, there’s always time to sneak a glance at some of the stalls and absorb a dose of holiday spirit.
