I visited the Bingham Copper Mine near Salt Lake City in 2008. This industrial landmark was quite a change of scenery after a week of marvelling at the natural beauty of Yellowstone and looking at vast empty landscapes throughout Wyoming. Different, yet with its very own wow-effect.
I love how the huge machines look like tiny toy trucks in this picture. And they really are huge! If you consider that the wheel of a truck is taller than a person, you can imagine how big they are and how vast this whole mine is.
