The town of Wolframs-Eschenbach has a long history. First traces of settlement date back to the 8th century. The tower in this picture is part of the medieval city wall that still surrounds the historic center. The town’s name was changed from Obereschenbach to Wolframs-Eschenbach in 1917, honoring the minnesinger Wolfram von Eschenbach, who is best known for his epic “Parzival”.
